"I'm 48 years old and in the second year of my journey into fitness, health, wellbeing and recovery. Real wellness is so much more than weight loss but it's definitely a starting point. I hit the scales at 26.6 stones. I was told by my cardiologist I'd be dead in a year if I didn't do something. I carried with me a portable CPAP machine and my mental health was in a dreadful state.
I felt literally crippled by depression and I was suffering from stroke type symptoms. I was diagnosed with a type of PTSD and just assumed I'd end up heavily sedated on medication indefinitely."
"How wrong I was. That first jumping off point seems a lifetime ago but now, 12.5 stone lighter and feeling the strongest and happiest I ever have I am thankful for the gym, good wholesome, nutritious food and an amazing PT who saw something in me that I didn't.
She helped me see what I was capable of. We put the work in, we chat and we laugh a lot. If anybody thinks they cant recover, they can.
